the puddle rules
- standard chess movement — pawns, knights, bishops, rooks, queens, kings all flow the usual way.
- no check or checkmate: liquid doesn't hold a rigid shape for something so formal. capture the king outright and the puddle wins.
- no castling, no en passant — currents this shallow don't have room for the paperwork.
- a pawn that reaches the far shore boils off and condenses back down as a queen.
- hotseat two-player: pass the device, or play across a room.
